Just an ordinary couple from the UK with a dream. You know how it feels to get up in the morning and just get on with the same old same old, well it was beginning to get to us. We had often talked about moving abroard and building a business together. We flew to Spain and chased around looking for a large enough property to work on, but could not find anything. Greece and France were on the agender for a visit, but we sat on the internet for a week or so instead. We had read about Bulgaria with it's wonderful nature and very hospitable people and decided to give it a go. We visited so many realestate sites on the net and a few properties caught our eyes but we knew we had to get down there and have look. We made arrangements through an agent in Bulgaria to stay a week and booked a flight. When we arrived at Sofia airport, a taxi was waiting and took us to our hotel in the town of Yambol. The following day we met our agent and we set off to look at some properties. The first one we looked at was an old bakery. It had about ten rooms and was a solid building, but it would have been a massive project for the two of us and we decided to look at another one. This one was in the village of General Inzovo, a village about twenty minutes drive from Yambol. When we arrived an elderly lady and her family were there to greet us. Having been around the house market for a few years in the UK we knew what we were looking for and this was it. It was two houses in fact. A brother of the family lived one side and his sister the other. We spent about half hour looking around the house and the courtyard, and knew this was the house for us.     

We have our dream home now. It's a beautiful house with eight spacious rooms and a good size courtyard surrounding it. We have been here a year come August and have never looked back. We have finished extensive conversion work on the house to turn it into apartments, and Sunrise is open to all. Sunset apartment will be ready end of August this year. We have had our ups and downs like a lot of people who decide to start a business abroad, but it has been worth every tear and every blister. We will start our diary soon and you can read about our journey through Europe down to Bulgaria to live in the beautiful village of General Inzovo.
